B.Tech Biotechnology at Anand Engineering College (AEC) is a 4 year undergraduate degree program that deals with biological processes and their utilization for industrial purposes such as studying micro-organisms and utilizing the knowledge for the development of medicines, antibiotics etc.
Biotechnology is the field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other industries requiring bio-products. This program is designed to expose students to recent exciting developments in biotechnology and their application in the industries, medicines and agriculture etc. B.Tech. degree in Biotechnology exposes students to both biological science and industrial processes, thereby giving them a well-rounded education and skills to work in industries and labs. Apart from studying about basic biological science related subjects, students are also exposed to the modern subjects like bioinformatics, stem cells and genetic engineering.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO’s)
The B.Tech Biotechnology program at Anand Engineering College, Agra, started in 2006, aims
to train students in Biotechnology wherein engineering and technology principles could be used
to probe biological questions or to develop technologies, devices and other systems that require
substantive expertise in Biology. The students in this program acquire knowledge, critical thinking skills and experience in conducting cutting edge research. This program develops human capital for advanced scientific research and entrepreneurship. Engineering Graduates will be able to:
PO 1 (Engineering knowledge) Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO 2 (Problem analysis) Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO 3 (Design/development of solutions) Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO 4 (Conduct investigations of complex problems) Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO 5 (Modern tool usage) Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO 6 (The engineer and society) Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO 7 (Environment and sustainability) Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
PO 8 (Ethics) Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
PO 9 (Individual and team work) Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
PO 10 (Communication) Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
PO 11 (Project management and finance) Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multi-disciplinary environments.

Department of Biotechnology at Anand Engineering College Agra was established in the year 2006 with a basic intension of facilitating the initiation of young students in the field of Biotechnology by imparting quality education and further train them to serve the nation. We offers four year degree program B.Tech Biotechnology. The course is affiliated to Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow and approved by AICTE New Delhi.
Being a highly refined and sophisticated discipline, the department of biotechnology is compiled by having experienced faculty with a rich and varied teaching and research exposure. The department incessantly aims to train students by imparting them latest industry required knowledge in the fields of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and other allied areas.
We at AEC are committed to combine stern academic study and the thrill of innovation for the betterment of Humankind. The Department has well defined and exclusive built-up space with facilities for carrying out both regular academic as well as research work in various areas of biotechnology.

Professionals from industry and national research laboratories, visit the department to give guest lectures and seminars on the latest developments and industry practices in Biotechnology.
