Overview

Applied sciences and Humanities include multi-disciplinary subject streams like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental science, English, Human values, Sociology, Psychology, Technical communication etc.  It is a backbone of all departments of college. The department imparts multi-disciplinary knowledge and develops the ability of students to question, think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, make decisions and adapt to change and improve the analytical capabilities of the students. It also imparts value education to learners in various fields to give them moral support.

About

Applied science and Humanities department was established in 1998 with the establishment of college to give support to other departments running in college in various branches. It has well-equipped laboratories viz. Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab and English Language Lab. The faculty members of the department are well experienced and qualified. Most of the faculty members of this department possess a doctorate degree. The faculty members of this department are continuously engaged in teaching, research as well as administration. They have attended various national and international conferences, workshops, seminars as well as faculty development programs. They also involve doing online NPTEL courses to enhance their academic skills. They have published many research papers in reputed national and international journals and also published various books. Vision of the department is to become a centre of excellence in various disciplines such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English and Human values with best teaching and research environment that adapts swiftly to the challenges of the upcoming century.

HOD’s message

On behalf of the department, it is my great pleasure to share my view that the students studying in our college are likely clay that can be given desired shape to cope up with the external world and to serve the country with their best technical and research skills. The department gives an exposure to the students in improving their overall personality by conducting various kinds of activities like guest lecture, Quiz and Competition etc. and ensures to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. It organizes three-week student induction program for newly admitted students to enhance their learning. We also encourage students not only in studying their subjects but also to participate in extra-curricular activities, sports etc. This helps the students in being better equipped and to become technological leaders and innovators. I am confident that the students studying in current batches would justify the credibility of the department by exhibiting a high level of performance in various fields.

CHEMISTRY LAB

The primary focus of the Chemistry Laboratories is to develop answers to research questions both for energetic materials and other materials.

The Department of Chemistry at Anand Engineering College Technical Campus  is committed to education related to certified undergraduate curriculum in Chemistry with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam  Technical University, Lucknow. The Chemistry laboratory gives students the opportunity to perform on hand experiments that explore important chemical concepts and introduce proper lab techniques and safety.

This Lab is equipped with all necessary equipment required for 1st year B-Tech students. The lab has facilities for heating, weighing, washing and filtration and to be used in Preparative and Analytical Chemistry. It is equipped with Stalagometer, Ostwald Viscometer, Digital pH meter, U.V. Spectrophotometer and all apparatus needed for titrations and detection of Organic Compounds. New equipments and relevant interesting experiments are being added every year.

PHYSICS LAB

More than a mere place in the back of the classroom, the Physics Laboratory is the place where physics students do physics. It is in the laboratory that physics students learn to practice the activities of scientists – asking questions, performing procedures, collecting data, analyzing data, answering questions, and thinking of new questions to explore.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE LAB

The main objectives of the Language Laboratory are to equip the students with good communication skills and cultivate relevant technical style of communication and Presentation at their work place and also for academic purpose. English language lab is Software based self guided learning to provide the required English language proficiency to students from an employability and career readiness standpoint.

English language lab at Anand Engineering College Technical Campus is committed to train the students to use correct and error-free speaking and writing by being well versed in rules of English grammar and involving students to actively participate in language learning exercises like start-up presentation, GD, Mock interviews, Extempore and Role play etc. The fear of speaking wrong and broken English and causing embarrassment inhibits students from speaking at all. English language lab provides the solution to this problem and teaches them in a sequential manner so that they improve their communication skills faster and accurately.
